Poetry Transforms Insignificant Moments Into Lyrical Meditations

The universe was against me briefly yesterday and I got pretty wrapped up in its negativity. Three printers at my campus failed to print some documents I needed to read on the way home. It never happened before and I was in the state of mine where one thinks: Of Course this would happen. Nothing can go right. I had to quit fighting with the machines to go to class and couldn’t focus as I was still fuming.
Writing this short little poem provided me the relief I needed. I looked at it when it was finished and laughed at how dramatic I am. Then I reread it and realized it describes that feeling pretty accurately. At least some good came out of the universe’s nefarious plot.
