Ki-tae is interviewed in his home, where he discusses his love of his house. He says he was once alone here as a child and this is why he loves to be alone here now. The ringing turns to pounding as Ki-tae adds, almost angrily, that now he wants to be with that girl. We rejoin Ki-tae and Jang-mi just as he opens the bottle of wine, and Jang-mi suggests that they date casually, without marriage in mind. She suggests they keep things secret from their parents, at least until she gets a job and his clinic is back in business. Jang-mi says that this time she wants to be a proud daughter and a good wife to him, and Ki-tae grins.
Jang-mi shows up anyway and pounds on his door, yelling for him to open up, and finally just unlocks the door herself. Jang-mi denies it but Ki-tae throws his arm around her and says that she is. They continue where they left off with Ki-tae saying that a girl has been making him uncomfortable, and everyone looks tense until the interviewer tells Jang-mi that he really wants to be with her. Ki-tae and Jang-mi talk later, and Jang-mi finally voices her worry that they were more comfortable when their relationship was fake.
She says that on the contrary, she gains energy to work so hard from all the sleep she gets by leaning on him, and Ki-tae fairly twinkles with happiness to hear it. He asks Jang-mi to be with him tonight without sleeping, and they both giggle when she agrees.

The secret that Ki-tae and Jang-mi are dating for real is finally out for all to see. I think it gave them both a bit of perspective into the other, to see things from the opposite point of view and to understand how things can change in an instant.
Their sudden change from near-villains trying to break up Ki-tae and Jang-mi, to Se-ah actually helping Ki-tae in business and Yeo-reum giving him relationship advice, is more than a bit strange. Unless I missed something, neither of them had to face any consequence of their previous actions or seemed to really have any reason to have changes of heart, other than that it serves the plot because someone was needed to do those things.
Jang-mi was right that they talked more, and were more honest, when their relationship was fake. I get why, because being in a relationship is scary, and being honest about your fears and insecurities makes you vulnerable. Showing someone your true self opens you up to rejection. But I loved their discussion about it, and how they both admitted it, because non-communication between leads is such a staple of dramas and I rarely see the characters actually sit down and actually talk about it.
So by seeing each other as they truly were, instead of the facade a person usually presents when in a new relationship, they were able to truly fall in love with the real person they were seeing. They know exactly who they fell for, without anyone being on their best behavior.
These two are gonna make it. Your email address will not be published. I fell a little bit out of love with this show because of how crazy the second leads were. I still really enjoyed it but just didn't get so excited. But, my love his been rekindled and I love this show even more than I did in the beginning. I was smiling and giggling the whole time and really just can't contain myself.
I need the next episode. But it was in this episode when I suddenly realized that they are very much like friends in my circle: they are changeable, incomprehensible at times and even hurtful some other times; yet we seem bound never to leave each other for good and to unite against any perceived common enemies or struggles.
And we give as good as we receive. In short, being friends doesn't mean being lovey-dovey or agreeable or sweet with each other at all times - that is how I am with my social acquaintances, but not with my friends or members of my family.
Unless I missed something, neither of them had to face any consequence of their previous actions or seemed to really have any reason to have changes of heart. But I do understand. It is because they're friends who've become members of a family of choice. And there are consequences for previous actions, as much as there are acts of contrition for them.
Business! marriage not dating dramabeans 14 consider, that you
I have watched it about 6 ce. It was oh so so cute. None of this jerking her by the arm and then mauling her unwilling face: instead, we get clear, up-front, adult communication about sex, and then some cute, embarrassed blushes on both sides. I squealed with happiness when she ran her foot up his leg after that chat, and then he tiptoed his fingers up her thigh.
This is what real people do when they are about to begin a sexual relationship: they flirt and mutually agree to sleep together. The lack of rapey overtones in this couple's sex life is sadly so refreshing. I love it. I am also so terribly happy to watch this episode and yunno what?
Are mistaken. marriage not dating dramabeans 14 useful
Oh my I tried to ignore the absurdity of Se-ah's weird kindness. I'm all out - melted Ok, what I am trying to say is that in conclusion for this episode 14, this snapshot scene at the beginning is exactly what it is but with a more definite explanation what it is about and also it is with a happy note too!! I'm to swayed away with the characters in this series I know Their parents JM's mom had terminal illness or pregnant? JM's parents get back together?
For marriage not dating dramabeans 14 rather
Now I have nothing to fill weekend drama void. Wait, what? There are only 2 episodes left? That's not possible! The show just started like I wasn't on the dad's or mom's side. It was horrible in Korean and then horrible translated into English and then horrible the other times I listened to it and the cavalier attitude that he gave. I do like that KT's mom straight asked him for a divorce, but it's clear it's KT's dad that's the one hanging onto the relationship, not visa versa.
I find that refreshing in story terms, since mostly in dramaland it's usually the one being cheated on that hangs on with all they have. I'm glad they clearly showed it was the Dad hanging on as well. I agree that too often they show the one being cheated on as the person clinging desperately to the relationship. I had an inking of what Dad's character was like when he mentioned that it would help his career promotion chances if Gi Tae ended up with Se Ah, but it was crystal clear in this episode and I think it will go a long way in helping Gi Tae find some understanding with his mom.
I swear, if Ki-tae would simply change his passcode, half the bad things that happen in this drama wouldn't happen LOL. Haha, but I'm actually glad this happened.
I've had a feeling for a while now that a later episode would end with Ki-tae's mom walking in on them and it's one of those turns that I weirdly still enjoy despite the fact that I expected it all along. I know that this situation is particularly bad because Jang-mi literally just told her there was nothing between them, but given the way Ki-tae very effectively cleared Jang-mi of all misunderstandings this episode Go him! In fact, I'm actually so excited. I loved how this episode dealt with Ki-tae's and Jang-mi's growing relationship and the importance of communication : In fact, the show is doing such a wonderful job of exploring the issues that new relationships bring, that I almost wish it had gotten here a little sooner even though I've actually thoroughly enjoyed the pacing.
But, all in all, I think this drama is on track to having perfectly satisfying final episodes next week. There's just enough conflict left to balance out cute with some nice emotional payoffs and I have faith that this drama can accomplish this wonderfully.
But seriously. I really don't want this drama to end and that's a very unusual sentiment for me. It wasn't even that embarrassing for either of them because they were both acting ridiculous. So, together, they ended up just being an adorable pair.
Ki-tae's dancing. Too cute. Also Hoon- dong's "You can't see me? I loved how Ki-tae was willing to go at Jang-mi's pace and how he supported her even though she was working with Yeo-reum. All the dynamics of their relationship were wonderful to watch play out this episode because everything they did came from the right place.
Jang-mi wanted a "cool" relationship precisely because, more than ever, she wanted things to work out with Ki-tae. And he was so focused on trying to be understanding of her and not to pressure her, that he didn't realize that just because she says she wants them to act "cool" doesn't mean that he needs to stop trying to convince her they should become more than that. This is perhaps why their conversation at the end is one of my favorite moments of them by far because they were dealing with such a real relationship issue.
When you try so hard to accommodate the other's needs, or don't want someone to worry about you, you only really end up with unnecessary distance between the So I loved how they openly talked through their struggles and reevaluated their relationship. It was really lovely to watch them both work so hard so that they could feel proud next to each other.

Aug 17, Marriage Not Dating: Episode 14 by LollyPip. It's an episode full of frustration for poor Ki-tae, both emotionally and physically, as he learns about life as the boyfriend of a successful entrepreneur. He and Jang-mi both learn a little about how important it is to communicate honestly, and I can only say thank goodness, it's about time/5. Aug 25, Marriage Not Dating was a relative success for tvN (it reached a high of during Episode 13 and mostly stayed within the 2range which is good for cable), but it's a far bigger success for Yeon Woo-jin and Han Groo, who showed fantastic range and now each have a leading role in a well-received drama under their belts. They were both so /5.
I especially loved how Ki-tae was willing to get interviewed by a bunch of strangers in his apartment! He really has come such a long way.
Excellent, agree marriage not dating dramabeans 14 due
Really, the main reason they had such a hard time communicating was simply because they were working so hard all of the time. Ki-tae was so hot and cute and funny when he told Jang-mi he wanted to do more than sleeping.
Like seriously. How does he do that?! I was laughing and swooning all at once. I swear, in so many ways, aesthetically Yeon Woo-jin is not my type. And then they were just too funny and adorable on top of that!!! Why do I only get 2 more episodes of them? This drama has been the death of me since the first week of airing. All your observations were on point and even though dad was a douche His tiny scene still moved the plot and story along so well.
The thing I really agree with from lollipip is yr. His sudden change in attitude made no sense from the beginning. Seha I can see her turning since she always wanted to be my kt side even as a friend so helping with his business made a ton of sense. You made such great points, Chandler! I totally agree with you about YWJ, too! At first, he was not really my ideal type in looks when it came to Korean actors. But he has truly grown on me and made this character so absolutely lovable.
I totally overplayed the last scene between the OTP so many times. How can any person deny Gi Tae's request when he looks so hot and delicious asking for it? Thanks for the recap, LollPip! I've been waiting for it all day and for my chance to squee over this episode. Totally agree about YWJ too, he's hilarious! I loved that scene of him and Hoon Dong also consistently hilarious dancing away like little dorks.
I also can't help laughing every time Ki-tae looks up and instantly deflates when Se Ah enters a room, and she just kind of comes in with that sort of half resigned, hey whaddaya gonna do look - I swear that must have happened like ten times by now! I was actually going to say something about this! I think it's hilarious how at least once per episode lately, there will be a scene where Ki-tae is either waiting for Jang-mi or for patients etc. Like, it's happened so many times in a row now and for some reason I find it really funny.
Chandler: wow Chandler dear. I still can't get over it It's good that both don't beat around the bush to get what they want hahah. It's nice to see something different for a change in korean dramas! They kill me every episode but esp this time when they coincide with GT's dance moves. And oh the dancing! From both GT and HD!! So cute! GT really sees how JM's is looked down on by his family. And also he finally as well as me sees how his parents relationship truly is as well as his dad.
So skeazy. Its way worst that he got married with adultery preplanned. From their open dialogue to their cute little moments to the mom walking in to a pretty evident scene. And with the cherry on top JM walks out in GT's t-shirt JM's dad left with side stitches. I really thought it would be a cute heartfelt letter!
But I loved that it wasn't! The crazed awkward laughing scene at the restaurant was such an obvious moment where JM was trying to be "cool" and failing miserably. These were just some highlights of mine but it was such a fun hour watch!!
Marriage Not Dating Ep 16 final sweet \u0026 romantic moment - gong gi tae \u0026 joo jang mi
So sad i have to wait a week for more of these two and to see how exactly his mom handles the situation she walked into!! But, if 20 years from now, I walk into his home and see women's clothes strewn all over, I'm turning around and running right back out and pretending I don't know anything. What mom stands around and waits to see who comes out of the room so that everyone can die of awkwardness?
Boundaries, lady! That's why you and your son have so many issues as it is For the first time ever I'm watching, not one but two shows that have stayed funny even through the angsty parts. This show is so super hilarious.
Why is that man allowed to walk around being so very beautiful? That's a crime, right? I realize that I've never actually watched any of his shows, though? Can he act?
The little snippet I saw here was not very promising. Oh sorry, meant to mention, the other one is Fated To Love You.
Even in the really sad episodes a couple of weeks ago they managed to introduce some levity and they bounced back quickly after some necessary angst. I'm the Mom of a grown daughter, and I would never just stroll into her apartment without calling, let alone knocking! So rude. And potentially awkward And if you did walk in someone else's house and there were intimates strewn across the floor, the least you could do would be to call out so that they have warning that someone is there so they don't do something like wander out with no panties on in front of their secret boyfriend's mother.
This is the first one that I thought actually stayed light and funny throughout except for that one episode, but I can forgive because it went right back to the funny. Even when it has me feeling sorry for the leads, I'm still laughing. This is good. I'm stoked for the last two episodes now, and I just love that we finally get to see Jang-mi and Ki-tae be boyfriend and girlfriend.
When it's just the two of them on screen, it feels like a completely different show. I enjoy watching their honesty with each other and their cuteness, of course. They have been such an awesome pairing. I agree with you on Se-ah and Yeo-reum not really getting their comeuppance.
So they are just two gorgeous people who meddle in multiple people's lives and they get to be nice, caring friends at the end? If that's what the writer wanted from the beginning, for everyone to be nice and cheerful with each other, then why bother making those two characters go down the road of desperation in the first place? It's like the writer couldn't make up their mind and just tried things.
That is my only gripe with this show now. I'm sad Mom was again lied to just when she was warming up to Jang-mi again. I can't even fault her for her impending coldness because it is justifiable this time around. I'm waiting for this drama to wrap up nicely and give all the characters I like and love their deserved ending. Yesss ive commented on ep 13 about how i cant believe that were given such a sweetheart version of yeoreum just an episode after he deliberately hugged jangmi just for gitae's mom to see!
Like, as a viewer i cant believe he could work with jangmi with no other motive and in ep 13 i thought he wasnt gonna keep his word and seduce jangmi but this ep he was such an angel. Doesnt make sense! Se ah is still acceptable bc technically she was helping gitae and she doesnt care about jangmi.
But yeoreum? I know people change but at least make it like hoon dongs progression. I can't help but wonder what comeuppance HYR deserved in all honesty. I would hardly call what he did meddling.
Marriage not dating dramabeans 14
He was courting, rightfully so, a single woman who had shown an interest in him. Yes, hugging her deliberately in front of Gi Tae's mom was a bit a douchey, but it was also a human thing to do. He didn't premeditate it, it was a split second decision and a really desperate one at that. The girl he had been courting and was showing a legitimate interest in and up until that point was doing the same, suddenly says she is no longer interested after he opened up to her.
Yeah I can imagine in the grand total of 30 seconds after hearing that he was like "Oh that's cool, no biggie". Why such a double standard? I don't see how he is any better? Just because he ended up with her? It' not like HYR was fabricating the truth. They had been dating. The situation was already there, he just bought it to light in a ill manner. I actually enjoyed the fact that the writer took this route.
Sometimes in life you got to learn to bow out gracefully and I like that eventually both second leads came to that.
They learnt they can be bitter and manipulative and alienate the people they care about just because a person does not reciprocate ones feelings does not make this null and voi or they can accept it and support them. God isn't it nice to see people being mature?
I think it was appropriate character growth and not so out of the realm of possibility. Too many people seem to have the lead couple bias. Plus why the need for blood?
The lead couple is happy and amazing. I think losing the ones they care about is comeuppance enough. Why the need for more suffering? Lol sometimes I read these comments and I am like have we been watching the same show. He has always been cool and casual about him and JJM's relationship, no matter how emotionally invested he was. He is going to be cool and casual about if after. Because thats the kind of person he has, is and will be. How many guys would not make a huge fuss about someone they are basically dating kissing another guy.
Not too many. How many guys would be like ,"Yeah go ahead and be fake engaged with little or no explanation to how its beneficial to you or me, sure thing sweetpea". She said he liked him he took her word for it. She said he was no longer interested he had his moment and carried on.
I think the reason why he acted like that, because well know HYR has huge abandonment issues. In that moment I think he was confronted with that and so he reacted harshly. I think he has been given a personality of his own and the show has been consistent with that. He doesn't want to be lonely and gets attached to things, but he also knows life goes on.
He learnt that after his mum left, he practiced it after him JJM were over. He is not going to stomp his feet and scream and make a huge deal about it. He has always had a moral compass, returning the money after JJM found it about him spying, paying for the truffles, generally using only expired ingredients and paying GGT back for his loan.
He is not going to try and hit on someone who he respects and admires like GGT's woman. It's not in his nature. Correct me if I am missing something, I rarely rewatch episodes, but I don't think HYR's character lacks progression at all. She said she was no longer interested he had his moment and carried on.
I read the recaps and the subsequent comments which left me baffled. What did Yeo reum do that was so wrong? Are we watching the same drama, here? If anything, Jang mi and Yeo reum were the ones legitimately dating, and I can 't count the number of times Gi Tae sabotaged their dates and even kissed Joo Jang mi when she was still dating someone else.
The fact that Jang mi and Gi Tae ended up together doesn't excuse his actions. If you want to get technical about it, you could even accuse Jang mi of two timing her boyfriend Yeo reum, who was being remarkably patient with Jang mi's and Gi Tae's 'fake' relationship. If anything, the ones who need their comeuppance in this drama are the lead couple. Don't get me wrong, I ship Gi Tae with Jang mi more than anything and think they make a cute and lovely couple.
But I'm not wearing any blinders or developing selective amnesia just because they are the main leads who everyone wants to end up together! I really like the way you lay down the way and why YR acted the way he did things. How did Hoon Dong, the boss, end up peeling onion for Yeo-reum's restaurant? I think he's bored at his own restaurant. I think it was more to gossip to jm about how kt is doin since. Which is a type of reversal in of itself.
Whereas the women's friendship has the element of men's in most shows. HD, clearly cares about his friend a lot, even accepting that his friend might be gay, even after dating all those women. Also, dancing with him. Anyone else notice that her bra left on the couch was white but she was clearly wearing a black bra - you could see it under her white shirt I didn't notice the bra but I counted how many underwear and shorts there were and I kept seeing one too many pair.
Well, it wasn't Jang Mi's first nite at Gi Tae's. Can we assume that she had spare clothing stashed there? I would think the black bra was much series then the one on the couch. I love the resolution to last episode's cliffhanger.
He didn't pout nor beg; just simply asked, "Whoever said anything about marriage? I thought the events would unfold with Ki Tae accepting Se Ah's job offer; then because his clinic closed down, Hoon Dong's restaurant would have no customers, so he would go work at the bar; then because Se Ah's hospital is close to the bar, they would all hang out there like Cheers.
I felt proud seeing him study because he finally stopped waiting around for Jang Mi while she played aloof. I cheered at his snide remark about her always being sleepy every time she is around him. Is their bar 24 hours? Her constant falling asleep was so inconsiderate of his feelings. I could feel their awkward silences through my computer screen. Couples usually run out of things to talk about years into their relationship, but they just started dating. That is not a good sign. Thank goodness they were back to their Chatty Cathy selves after dropping the "cool" act.
I don't see anything wrong with Mom catching them, other than the embarrassment for both parties. But this is a good way for her to realize they are together and are serious with each other.
Where in the world did Hyun Hee get the money to open a bar? Thanks for the recap, LollyPip! I think her constant falling asleep was partly meant to show how comfortable she was around him. I don't really think she was that inconsiderate a little bit, yes because she obviously treasured the moments she got to sleep on his shoulder and even sited it as her reason for being able to work so hard.
Also I don't think they necessarily ran out of things to say, but that they simply had to make it through that awkward friends-to-lovers transition. When you think about it, they've never really gone through the "how do I impress this person" stage because they moved directly to the "I can be myself around this person" stage as soon as they met. So now that they're dating, it's almost like they felt the need to go back to the stage they missed because now they care what the other person thinks.
It actually shows how much they've come to respect each other. They just needed to mess up a bit first to see that the reason they wanted to be together in the first place was because they had a relationship in which they could be themselves. I like this one because it's essential in order to make a relationship works in the long run.
This is what makes their relationship extra special and meaningful. Even when she intends to appear good in front of him, she can't help but shamelessly fell asleep on their date. Cutting this into two since my comment is too long! Sigh, the episode I hate commenting on most is the last. Because it just means I gotta accept that the end is here.
But oh well I loved this show; I didn't for a moment think it lowered its level and even if I started seeing it late, I totally feel the withdrawals. This last episode is my favourite I think, mostly because the family ties are so well addressed rather than sugar coated. I loved that Jang-mi's parents aren't suddenly romantic and that Ki-tae's mom decided to live with the women who's been by her side through it all. I just see it happening in real life to these characters who seem so real and alive themselves.
Everyone felt organic rather than puppets controlled by a master. I really started hating Se-ah somewhere in the middle, but I'm glad she was redeemed quickly. While I know a majority of you guys felt her character changed too abruptly, I think her main personality remained the same. She was still controlling but maybe focused on another target - first it was to get Ki-tae back, then it was to make Ki-tae's life perfect. I'm glad she got her happy ending even if I really expected the father of the child to be Yeo-rim.
As for Yeo-rim, I was really sad he left the restaurant because I felt his bond with both Jang-mi and Ki-tae was way more powerful than some temporary jealousy.
But in a drama that focuses on characters being realistic, its good that he's moving on because eventually things happen, people change as well as circumstances. I also really loved the portrayal of friendship and loyalty here. It's actually very understated and sometimes ignored with many other things happening, but it's one of my favourite cts.
They all looked out for each other, were there when the other person needed a shoulder. Everyone has a different connection and they aren't bonded as a group but more so individually. It's just so awesome. And finally Ki-tae and Jang-mi. I feel like I've said everything I wanted to about how great they are together and as individuals. But I can probably go on forever. Instead, I'll just say the reason I love them so much is because Yeon Woo-jin and Han Groo are just so good at portraying them.
Their chemistry was intense yet warm, blazing yet comfortable, easy yet charming. Both are ridiculously talented and I expect great things from them in the future. I hope they get a chance to be main leads in network channels and take on bigger challenges.
Definitely the breakout stars of the year for me. I've never seen them in anything before and I'm just so mighty impressed. I can probably carry on, but I'll stop lol. I love this show and I hope that those who haven't seen it yet will give it a try. I'll miss it, but endings like these make me feel like they all exist in the world I live, just that maybe I won't get to see them onscreen anymore.
That makes me feel better actually, which in turn makes me feel delusional LOL. Han Groo is awesome! TvN seems to really like wedding scenes in their dramas this year. They seemed so mature in this drama. Jin Woon needs to work on his acting. He needs to loosen up and act more natural. There is nothing more intimidating than a flock of meddling ahjummas.
I can't help but wonder how it feels for Yeon Woo-jin and Han Groo to go from having so much skinship with one another while shooting the drama and, as we know, the real time far exceeds the reel time to none presumably after the drama wrapped. Their pheremones must feel confused! I'm excited for both of the leads and enjoyed them each immensely in this, but I've got to give extra props to Han Groo for being such a natural at the physical comedy.
Anyway, they made a delightful OTP that I shall remember fondly for a long time. I super loved that Mom, Grandma, and Aunt were equally thrilled about staying together and giving Dirtbag the boot. Especially in the context of Korean family values. I would've liked to have seen Jang Mi and Ki Tae's Mom enjoying a newfound bond with one another on this ep. Loved the series. Marathoned it in 2 days.
Always wanted to check it out coz the first episode recap sounds really good and am glad I get to marathon it instead. Thanks for the recaps. I agree that both leads really gave their best in their roles Hopefully they will move on to bigger and better projects. Thing is I feel that cable sometimes used lesser known actors who doesn't command the same buzz but somehow produces better results. It's telling that a number of cable dramas are actually more entertaining than the ones on the main stations.
It's a peculiar trend but as long as us viewers remain the beneficiaries MnD finally finished. Man, those aunts of GiTaes are so damn annoying. They don't live with him one apparently lives in the USdon't keep up with the family I saw that look of surprise on their faces when Queen Mom told them their bro has a woman and yet they place all these ridiculous expectations on KiTae because "he's the sole family heir" and on their sister-in-law prepare for my dad's memorial while I wine and dine!!!!
There's a reason why you three were not invited, you know. What a fun wedding. Although, I would die if that happened to me. Usually, guests wait until after they get some alcohol in their system before they create a scene at your wedding, but nope, this was all sober. Such is Jang Mi and Ki Tae's life. At least the busybody Gong ladies now know about Dad's infidelity. I was relieved Show didn't go down the cliche path of Jang Mi being pregnant when she threw up because I did not want a child to be a factor in his marriage proposal.
Ki Tae and Jang Mi will go down as my all-time favorite couple. Their bubble bath flashback reel starting from the time they met to the time he fell for her brings tears to my eyes. They belong together. I cannot express how much I adore all the cute facial expressions Ki Tae makes. No one does it like Yeon Woo Jin. I cannot think of any other actresses who could have embodied Jang Mi as well as Han Groo. One of my favorite character traits of Jang Mi came in episode 4 where she couldn't bring herself to half-ass the cooking even though the point was to mess up the memorial.
As Ki Tae pointed out, "Why are you working so hard? Just burn everything," but her morals stopped her from doing that, and I love that about her. Also loved how Ki Tae peeled all those chestnuts after saying he wouldn't do it. They both say they won't do it but do it anyways. Jang Mi and Ki Tae were so realistic even while everyone else around them was unrealistic.
This was such an unexpectedly heartfelt drama that I will miss. Thank you for recapping it, girlfriday and LollyPip! If you watch it, you'll see that your above statement would make her very, very happy :. She is so multi talented! Never knew she was a singer.
It shows that when she has something in mind she commits wholeheartedly to accomplish it. Like in singing, diving and acting. She is in some ways like Jang Mi too, esp. Thanks for sharing, Chandler and alcoholicbubbletea! I know she lived in China as a child, but her Mandarin is seriously so impressive. Han Groo was a guest on an old episode of Strong Heart where she revealed she debuted at 4 years old and talked about her boss Joo Young Hoon.
Thank you for the recaps. It was what started me watching. And what a waste it would have been if I had missed it. What a breathe of fresh air. I totally love how messy, loud and chaotic the wedding scene was. It ended the way it started- everyone being a drama queen. Love the stormy sky backdrop with the whole wedding tableau. Plus I've spent basically the whole drama admiring Han Groo's fantastic legs.
Muscular and toned. And no stilettos in sight. Agajdkslldnsnahajjsjd this is def the best romcom of It sits as my second favorite forever and this drama totally deserves a number one spot if only i wasnt so fond of my fangirling busan high schooler. I wanna thank all recappers and regular commenters i remember lessonlearn, chandler, harmonyfb, kim yoomi amongst some.
You guys made it so fun watching it and i like that even tho there are differing opinions theres never a comment war here.
DB jjang! This drama seriously made me wanna follow korean dramas again. Ive been watching since full house days but i got so bored lately because shows are trying to be cool and different but this show, using the very same trope that got me hooked ten years ago, managed to end refreshingly. Its weird how i dont feel the need to protest about otp getting together too long.
I feel like they were just learning to see each other better with one wall falling after another as time passes. I even appreciate that it took them forever to acknowledge their feelings despite gitae actually falling for jangmi in like ep4.
Its a very mature thing to portray that a relationship takes so long to happen. All in all, i now have an ideal relationship type thanks to this drama.
I actually made lunch for my mother after gitae phone scene in ep. In ep Thanks MND. Youre just a drama but a ride with you makes me appreciate my life better and makes me want to be a nice person because jjm proves that being kind trumps all.
Thank you for your recap of one of my favorite shows of the summer. My daughter asked me what show to watch.

I told her Marriage Not Dating because it's not your usual boy meets girl plot. Also, I told her that Han Groo looks like my cousin when she was young so she said she would definitely check it out. Anyway, sad to see it come to an end.
I enjoyed the beginning parts, middle dragged on with the secondary characters I didn't care about, but ending was quite different and refreshing. I'm especially glad that Ki Tae's mom finally had enough of Mr. Jerkface and asked for a divorce, the house, and told him to hit the road!
I'm also liked it when the Grandma and Aunt commiserated with Ki Tae's mom and not the dad because they knew how much hurt and suffering she endured over the years.
They made the"Perfect Couple" for this funny, sometimes crazy and silly hi jinks of their two absolutely crazy families. What fun it was to watch this pair! I am still battling the tears as this show has come to an end and also the family relationships it has explored and unraveled.
Most touching moment - ki-tae mom accepting in laws and friends and wanting to continue living with them. I am very very very sad and I am now having withdrawals that this show has ended. I have watched eps 16 more than 5x already and has not gotten over it yet!
Anyway, congratulations to all the people behind this great show. I am now an instant fan of YWJ and HG, been watching all their previous projects Hope to see them again in their future projects as awesome as this.! One thing that hits me on this series is to appreciate all my loved ones for all their kinkiness, messiness and all their disorders since I for one is one I loved this show so much, love all the relationships, friendships, mother-son, mother-daughter, mother in law-daugther in law I just loved the scene of KT and his mom on the phone So loved the cuteness and sweetness overload of our OTP and that passionate kiss at the end, that nailed it so beautifully!
Ki Tae's mom started out as "that" Kdrama mom and turned into my hero. That, my friends, is what you call character development, and as usual Kim Hae Sook is fabulous!! It's finally over. Nevertheless, this will be one of my favorites of all time. There are just those dramas that you'd love to watch again and again. I'm sure I'd keep watching and rewinding my favorite scenes. Jang Mi is the epitome of flawed but gorgeous.
The ending was perfect and symbolic. Love and Marriage is not about the absence of rain but about holding and loving each other amidst the storm. YWJ and HG were perfect for their characters. I hope I see them again in a drama I have had loads of fun and laughter watching this and didn't want it to end. What a fun and light-hearted series with a great ending.
I'm just so happy that this show remained true to itself until the end.
And that they weren't afraid to show the OTP kissing and touching like any normal couple thanks cable! Other dramas should follow the example: spend 2 episodes wrapping up everything nicely instead of rushing your ending in just 5 to 10 minutes. I think that in part, Marriage Not Dating was so enjoyable because the lead actors were easy to relate to, not just because of their flaws, but also because they looked like normal people. Yeon Woo Jin, though adorable, doesn't have the abs of an idol or male model, and Han Groo is cute in a very natural way.
Yaaay episode 16 is out! But noooo the drama is over! I really really liked Marriage Not Dating, in fact, I would consider this one of my favorite dramas ever.
I can't pinpoint exactly what it is that makes MND memorable for me.
I think it has something to do with how honest and realistic the story is and how relatable the characters are and the situations that they go through. Of course, it is largely due to how good the main leads are in portraying their roles. She makes the funniest, most ridiculous facial expressions and it's greatly part of the reason why Joo Jang Mi is such a flawed yet completely lovable character. I would say I personally don't find her to be typically pretty but she has something about her that makes her quite attractive.
She also has really nice toned legs, LOL. I will be sure to watch out for her future projects because this girl can act. I was surprised to learn that she's a er.
She comes off as more mature than her real age. Actually, all the 3 female leads here appeared much more mature than their real ages, which isn't a bad thing.
Thank God I did, though, because I never would have discovered how good these two are. I loooved the cat meowing sound effects everytime Gi Tae and Jang Mi are about to do you-know-what stuff. And of course, no one can play a K-drama mom better than Kim Hae Sook. I really liked mom's scenes in this last episode especially when she finally let go of that perfect-wife exterior and finally eased up. I'm happy she asked for the house and all three women teamed up to kick dad out, woohoo!
Hoon Dong was quite annoying at the beginning but they quickly turned his character into one that you can't help but like despite his hopeless mama's boy syndrome. His interactions with Gi Tae, Jang Mi and his mom towards the latter parts of the show were some of the funniest bits in the show. I will miss it's simplicity, it's honesty, it's heart, it's perfect comedic timings, awesome OST, perfect leads, and realistic take on dating and marriage.
Of course it had its flaws, too, and I admit there were some moments that weren't as strong What's better is that I didn't have a lot of expectations going into this but ended up taking a lot out of.
